Lynal ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal life-tracking app: you log habits, moods, workouts, journals, goals, social activity and (optionally) income, and the app turns them into scores, trends and AI-generated insights. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles, where it goes, and the controls you have.
Lynal is operated by Nile Productivity LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
1. Data we collect
Account & profile. Email address, display name, optional username, date of birth, gender/identity selection, optional bio and profile photo, region (for regional leaderboards), and your subscription tier.
Well-being & activity data (the content of the app).
- Daily check-ins: mood and energy ratings.
- Habits and habit completions.
- Journals and dream entries — free-form text you write.
- Workouts: exercises, sets, weights, duration, intensity, body stats (e.g. body weight and body-fat figures) you log.
- Goals and goal progress.
- Onboarding answers: your focus pillar, your energy and mental-state ratings, any notes you typed (for example about feeling overwhelmed, your goals or your social life), your routine, follow-through and workout-frequency answers, your chosen check-in time, and why you downloaded Lynal.
- Daily focus items and your weight goal.
- Your conversations with Lyli (your messages and Lyli's replies), stored so the conversation can continue and used to update Lyli's memory (below).
- Social interaction logs (who/what you note, quality ratings).
- Income figures and income goals you choose to enter (never pulled from any financial institution).
- Derived scores (your Life Score and pillar scores), streaks, league placement, badges and weekly recaps computed from the above.
We do not connect to Apple Health or Google Fit. Any workout or body data in Lynal is only what you enter in the app yourself.
Lyli's memory. To personalise its coaching, Lyli builds and keeps a written profile of you from your entries: observations, a running model of your patterns, working theories and open questions about you, monthly summaries, and a starting profile derived from your date of birth (using numerology and Sun-sign associations). This profile is stored with your account, is included in what we send to Anthropic when Lyli chats with you or analyses your entries (see section 2), and is deleted with your account.
Friends (optional). If you add friends inside the app, we store the friend requests and friendships you create. This uses only accounts already on Lynal — Lynal does not read, upload, or scan your device's address book.
Photos. If you set a profile photo or add an image to a journal entry, the image you pick or take is uploaded to your storage area on our servers. We request camera/photo access only when you initiate this.
Push tokens & device data. If you enable notifications, we store your Expo push token to deliver them. We do not collect advertising identifiers or precise location, and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
Website visitors (lynal.app). Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages and delivered through Fastly. Like any web host, their servers record standard connection logs (your IP address, browser details and the pages requested) for security and operations, under GitHub's privacy statement. The site itself sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no resources from third parties.
Product analytics & diagnostics. We use PostHog, a first-party product analytics tool, to understand how the app is used and to find crashes. It records:
- Screens you visit and the order you visit them in.
- Taps on interface elements (we capture only an element's internal test identifier — never the text you typed or the content you were looking at).
- App lifecycle events (app opened, backgrounded, installed, updated).
- A small number of named product events — for example completing onboarding, signing out, or starting/failing a purchase.
- Crash and error reports.
These events are linked to your account's user ID so we can tell one person's session from another's. We never send the content you create — journal and dream text, chat messages, mood notes and photos are excluded by design. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers or combine it with data from other companies' apps or websites. Signing out detaches your identity from future events. Events already recorded at PostHog are not removed when you delete your account (see section 5).
2. How AI is involved (Anthropic)
Lynal's assistant ("Lyli") analyzes your entries (journals, dreams, check-ins, habits, workouts, goals, income trends) to produce insights, chat responses, weekly recaps and suggested workouts. To do this, relevant excerpts of your data, together with Lyli's stored profile of you (see "Lyli's memory" in section 1), are sent to Anthropic (Claude models) via API from our servers. Anthropic's commercial API terms provide that API data is not used to train their models. You can disable all background AI analysis at any time in Settings → Lyli → AI analysis — when off, nothing is sent to Anthropic in the background.
Lyli is a coaching feature, not a medical, mental-health, or financial professional; see our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
3. Where your data lives (processors)
| Processor | Role |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage (all app data) |
| Anthropic | AI analysis/chat as described above |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management and receipt validation |
| PostHog | Product analytics and crash reporting (see section 1) |
| Expo (EAS) | Push-notification delivery |
| Apple / Google | Sign-in (if you use Sign in with Apple / Google) and payments |
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
4. Leaderboards & public profiles (your choice)
By default your profile is private, and while it is private other users see you everywhere — league standings, leaderboards, friends lists, search — as your username only: no name, no photo, no profession, and (if they open your card) no Life Score, tier, or any other detail.
Weekly league. The league is part of the app: each week you are placed in a small cohort (up to 30 members) where the other members can see your username, your weekly Life Score change, and your placement.
Leaderboards (opt-in). If you opt in, your username, Life Score and tier appear on the global/regional boards.
Public profile (opt-in). If you enable a public profile, other users see your first name, photo, and full profile card (scores, streaks, badges); income figures appear only if you additionally enable "Show income". You can turn each of these off at any time.
5. Your rights & controls
- Export: Settings → Download my data gives you a machine-readable export of your data (uploaded photos are not included in the file).
- Delete: Settings → Delete account deletes your account, your data in our database, and your uploaded files. Subscription and purchase records held by RevenueCat and product-analytics events held by PostHog are not removed by this step and are retained under those processors' terms.
- AI opt-out: Settings → Lyli → AI analysis toggle.
- Notifications: disable any time in Settings or at the OS level.
- Verification: to protect your account, we act on emailed requests only when they come from the email address on your account and are confirmed through a one-time link or code sent to that address; where possible, use the in-app Export and Delete tools.
- EU/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) residents may also exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection (including to analytics) and portability, and may withdraw any consent they have given (without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal), via the in-app tools above or by emailing support@lynal.app. EU/UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO). We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA.
6. Retention
Your data is retained while your account exists so the app can compute your history, scores and recaps. Deleting your account removes it from our database and storage (see section 5 for what our processors retain). Ephemeral processing data at our AI processor is subject to Anthropic's retention terms for API traffic.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting provider. Your session token is stored in your device's secure keychain. Access to your rows is enforced server-side with row-level security; other users can never read your journals, check-ins or logs.
8. Age
Whatever age rating appears on Lynal's App Store listing, you must be at least 16 to create an account (enforced at sign-up). The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16; if you believe someone under 16 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We'll post any material changes to this page and update the effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
